Best Buy’s New Logo?

I suppose this isn’t important news, but I’m fairly fascinated with all things advertising and marketing. I recall when I was a kid seeing my first Best Buy, and thinking it was a discount outlet store of some kind because of the logo.

 

Hundreds of CDs and 4 Guitar Heroes later, it looks like they’re getting on the change bandwagon and testing out a new logo in mall of America…

 

With Circuit City likely going bankrupt shortly, I’m not sure if they really even need a logo at all.
