Atlas Shrugged Trailer Now Available

Updated: First Thoughts from The American Spectator from a sneak preview

Couldn’t have come at a better time…but is it the right movie? Filmed on a small budget but reportedly true to the original text, we’ll see. While it’s hard to tell with the just-released trailer, it is interesting to see the apparent current-day setting and the teasing as a high-stakes business drama, which may court new viewership to the Ayn Rand classic.

Looking forward to finding out “Who is John Galt” on the big screen, if nothing else. Opens in theaters April 15 (nice touch) 2011.

New Mortal Kombat Trailer – Whoa.

Brilliant viral marketing on many fronts. I’ve rarely played the game Mortal Kombat (though the storyline looks cool I guess) and never seen any of the movies. (Updated – here’s the whole story of what’s going on with the trailer).

I kept seeing this pop up all over the internet in statuses and other sites referenced some Mortal Kombat trailer. No one knew if it was some promo for a game or a movie, so I ignored it.

Glad I changed my mind and watched it, looks awesome. Definitely check it out. Apparently it is, indeed, from an upcoming movie. UPDATED: Status from one of the girls in the trailer, apparently it is a promo from a director hoping to get picked up by the studio. Nice attempt…if so best viral marketing I’ve seen evah.

No embedding here, go to the full HD version as the noir styling is pretty interesting and needs full screen for effect.

Iron Man 2 Trailer Released

Some awards were given last night at the Academy Awards, but when they got back to the interesting part (the commercials) you would’ve been able to catch the rowdy new trailer for Iron Man 2.

I have to say it doesn’t make me want to see it anymore than the last trailer did, but that’s ok since I couldn’t have wanted to see it more than I already did.

What?? It’s superheroes, man.

New Trailer for the Un-Superhero

As a fan of superhero movies and a lifelong wearer of a towel as a cape, my interest had to be peaked by the upcoming movie “Kick Ass.” It’s about regular folks that decide to put on costumes and become superheroes..much like my entire life before I was 12. Ok before I was 27.

The first teaser trailer was interesting, the second red-band trailer showed the film will be pretty brutal in language and violence, and the newest third trailer brings back the promise. Check it out. In theaters in April 2010.

Getting in the Hot Tub Time Machine?

Lots of buzz on this March release…. Hot Tub Time Machine may be a movie right up my alley. A mix of Road Trip, The Office, and Back to the Future. I’ll definitely be there…whether it will be good or not isn’t apparent from this trailer, but it looks promising. There is obviously a decent plot here that isn’t hinted at in the trailer, it isn’t random goofiness, so it will be interesting to see how it ends up.

Very interesting cast, as well, mixing up some favorites from very different movies, including the usually straight John Cusack.

Checks it out. If you’ve ever dreamed of traveling back in time to the 1980s.
