A Republican in Camelot’s Court?

I’m pretty doubtful that Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat can be lost in Massachusetts, but it’s been fascinating to watch Republican Scott Brown give it a try. This is a pretty critical seat because of the filibuster proof majority Democrats enjoy in Congress. Mostly fascination because…it’s Massachusetts. This shouldn’t even be an issue.

Just today alone, Scott Brown blew away all expectations and raised $1 million dollars in a money bomb for his campaign against Dem challenger Martha Coakley. Win or lose, you know there’s a problem brewing.

Most of all, I enjoyed this debate clip where Brown is asked how he can sit in Ted Kennedy’s seat and be the person to block healthcare.

Brown informed him that it’s not “Kennedy’s Seat.” Win or lose, whether he’s worth anything or not, his response something everyone in Washington needs to be reminded of.

SC Voters, if you want to knock out Lindsey….

If you could sum up everything that’s wrong with the Republican Party in one person, it’s our Senator Lindsey Graham. He follows McCain around like a lapdog, hoping for some position in his administration. He’s as good-ole-boy as you’ll ever get. He follows no logical course of convictions, but checks the wind, checks his donors, and votes accordingly.

The other choice for the Senate is a Democrat named Bob Conley. He’s been referred to as a “Ron Paul” Democrat, and has the support of Ron Paul. In fact, Ron Paul’s a little nutty, but he would’ve done better with the demeanor of Conley because Paul has many brilliant positions. He just looked like a mad scientist when he talked about them.

From what I’ve seen in the debates and reading through his issues, “Flat Top Bob” is a good choice. He’s a supporter of the Fair Tax (my favorite) and generally is conservative/libertarian on most issues. He’s got about $5,000 left in the bank against the Graham machine, so it’s not likely he’ll make it.

Or perhaps he can. If you’re a South Carolina voter, that’d be up to you. He’ll get my vote.
