Global Warming’s a Scam, Become an Environment Pragmatist

For those who get their news from the networks, you may have missed this incredible story the past two weeks that has culminated in a call for a Congressional hearing on Global Warming Fraud. A hacker nabbed some confidential emails that reveal a conspiracy to methodically hide the temperature decline, and to keep those with differing views on global warming silenced. Oh, and to make up data where necessary to make a point. Here’s a history with a lot of quotes from the hack.

The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka Hadley CRU) and released 61 megabites of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That) When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at Hadley CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of Big Money, Big Media (MSNBC and NBC parent company GE) and Big Government ready to capitalize on the Climate hysteria. Too much for them to pay any attention to this type of thing. In fact, the NY Times is already trying to say this is an invasion of privacy rather than deal with the content (unlike if confidential government war strategies are printed). Today, Senator Inhofe will call for an investigation into this whole matter.

So where does that leave us? Is Global Warming real? Probably not, but it is becoming almost a religion for those without one and no evidence will convince them otherwise. Is pollution a problem? Quite a big one, especially as China is coming online at full speed.

Unfortunately a pragmatic approach to saving the environment through realistic means that don’t destroy economic growth and control what lightbulbs you use doesn’t play well in party politics. But I believe the country is beginning to get all over the map with their beliefs, and those beliefs don’t match either party. While our leaders must be extreme, we no longer are. We’re pragmatists..on this and increasingly many more issues.

So if all the evidence against Global Warming, and all the frauds and scams used to fake it being exposed have made you happy, don’t be. Carbon Dioxide may not be causing world-ending heat, but it’s clearly not a good thing to have smoke spewing from the factories and into the air and water. If you’re a die-hard Global Warming believer in spite of all the revelations, don’t be that either, use the same standards to judge this science you do disproving science you don’t believe in. Why should either side live in blind fantasy?

While those clean energy technologies are a pipe dream right now, we can eventually get somewhere with them, but not through force of government. Government creates nothing. Innovation comes from individuals who believe in a cause without concern for power. Private market steps being taken all over the country in businesses everywhere are a good start. Forcing Ethanol down our throats isn’t the answer either, but there is an alternative to crude oil out there and a government with big money interests won’t find it.

Hopefully the world will see the Global Warming fraud for what it is…a fraud, but also see a call to action to stop wasting time and money on things that don’t work and start building a grassroots effort to find things that do. There’s plenty of supporters of the environment, and any business taking steps to improve it will find many customers to help them.
