This is likely because the storyline took place in 1999 as the characters graduated, the same year I did. I have no excuse for the fact that I’ve seen all the direct-to-dvd sequels that have came since (featuring only Jim’s Dad from the original cast).

Well paint me lucky (I could use some luck these days) but it looks as if a new American Pie theaterical release is in the works, with original characters. I thought part 3, American Wedding, almost killed the series off it was so bad, but perhaps there is hope. Not homemade hope, but the McDonald’s kind.

The first American Pie netted over 235 million dollars, and no one in the cast has amounted to much since, so they may be a bargain. Tara Reid may even work for drugs.
