McCain and Obama – How It Could Be.

Tonight’s performance by McCain and Obama at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner (traditionally a hysterical speech display by politicians) is a must watch because it shows what we could have from candidates if they weren’t slammed into strict political debate formats. Even as poor as our choices are, they are the choices, and we’ve gotten no opportunity to see them off their party talking points in a major forum.

In all honesty, this is McCain’s best performance I’ve ever seen. I laughed out loud quite a few times. Obama was pretty stellar too.Here you can see sides of the candidates we could see if we demanded it. But alas, we only get demonized versions and repetitive lists and non-answers in debates. This is proof we could, and should, demand better from our process.

It’s a rare thing when I actually want to watch McCain talk.
