There hasn’t been much to write home about music-wise in the past few quarters, but as Summer winds down, I’ve found a few gems and “good enoughs” to toss into my regular Spotify rotation.
And speaking of Spotify, the app’s got a new curated playlist offering that’s been getting pretty solid feedback called “Release Radar.” Similar to the popular “Discover Weekly” personalized playlist, Release Radar focuses on new music, curating recent release songs based on your listening activity in the app. After a week, I give it a thumbs up. It’s helped me find a few new bands, but more importantly, new releases from bands I like that I wasn’t aware of – a feature I’ve missed since the demise of Rdio. You can view your Release Radar list (which is updated weekly) by going to Browse > Discover > Release Radar in the Spotify app.
Back to my new music finds, here are the new songs in the rotation at my desk and the gym.
