Homeless Guy Thanks Chris Christie for Getting Gov’t off His Back

Libs like to look at a world where all poor people are good and all rich people are evil. Oddly un-nuanced for such a progressive lot. The reality is there are multiple kinds of poor people, including ones who will remain poor because they don’t care and live a life of crime and drugs, no matter how many handouts you give them.

The other kind are just down on their luck, who don’t want a handout, just a hand up…and they’re willing to give it to themselves. They don’t want to just make it through the day with a little government check, they want to keep going. They are on the verge of being able to pay all their bills and are working hard towards doing it, if Government would get off their back.

This guy is one of those, and he speaks out at a NJ Gov. Chris Christie rally. This clip makes progressives angrier than any other kind because they need homeless people to know their place, which is a ward of the nanny state not an independent person.

President Kickass Pulls a George W

The unpredictable, gun totin’ cowboy – I saw the same thing as Obama recently expressed in an interview – that caused the media and Will Ferrell to go bazonkers during the prior 8 years.

Updated – This clip has now been Auto-tuned. Heh.

Fair enough, but a) would they give Obama the same treatment and b) Obama doesn’t talk too tough about the folks perpetrating “man made disasters” (or as we refer to it ‘terrorism’) or bring that “can kick” spirit to attacking the skyrocketing deficit.

Well I stand corrected as Jon Stewart (who has become a relatively equal offender of Republicans and Democrats compared to other comedians) blasts Obama and even uses the George W. Bush voice to do it. FTW

Chris Christie Challenges the Teachers Unions

Another Chris Christie video?? Yup. I need to get over this guy. Nope.

You recall the millions who saw in Obama a change from the entrenched, self-serving mob-style politics of the past. I was in that group, I just knew Obama wasn’t going to be any different.

Going up against the establishment to do what’s right for the regular people, with the likely outcome of getting destroyed in the process is Change. It looks like this.

Quotables Soundbites of the Day

Obligatory NJ Gov. Chris Christie quote of the day (if he speaks, it’s probably the best thing I’ve heard all day, sorry.)

via HotAir.com on Newark, NJ’s disgraceful failure in public education and the way out.

————–

“To that end, we’re supposed to be adversaries, not co-conspirators, partners, favored “stakeholders,” or beneficiaries. That’s why the Constitution made us independent.” – Mark Tapscott on the FTC’s scarily Owellian ideas on how the Obama government needs to insert itself into journalism to “help” them for the greater good.

————

“The New York Times’ Linda Greenhouse recently compared the Arizona law to Hitler’s policies toward the Jews. You remember how Jews were constantly sneaking across the border into Nazi Germany?” – Ann Coulter

————

“One time, go off!” – Spike Lee on Obama needing to drop his “cool” demeanor for the oil spill.

————

‘I’d Have to Ask Counsel for a Better Answer on That” – Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs being asked about the Sestak bribery scandal and why it took 3 months for an answer

———–

“You go in this place and it’s a factory but, my gosh, they’ve got restaurants and movie theaters and hospitals and swimming pools. For a factory, it’s pretty nice,’ – Steve Jobs on conditions at iPhone manufacturing plant Foxconn in China where 10 have committed suicide so far this year.

———–

“Marchant says their one-night stand happened in 2008 during a trip to Utah.” – second allegation of cheating for SC Gov. candidate Nikki Haley

———-

“Look, you can argue whether Israel should have dropped people onto that ship or not — but the truth of the matter is, Israel has a right to know — they’re at war with Hamas — has a right to know whether or not arms are being smuggled in.” — “shoot from the hip” Joe Biden on the Israeli flotilla debacle

———

“Let me repeat that: AT&T is charging you an additional twenty dollars a month based purely on how you use your data.” – Gizmodo on AT&T’s new announcement of new non-unlimited data plans and tethering for iPhone

———

“Some of you may have noticed that we have been building this foundation without much help from our friends in the other party.” – President Obama shifting blame on just about everything back to the Republicans in 2010 mid-term prep speech

Jon Stewart Mocks Obama Oil Spill Response

Without even looking at the polls (lowest approvals to date if you did need to look) you can pretty much figure where Obama stands when Jon Stewart takes a knockout punch.

“We had underwater robots with diamond saws, and we tried that sixth!?”

Hippies Rejoice. Watergate Reboot Arrives!

Updated: I feel dumb saying the White House offered someone a job in return for dropping out of a race. It was actually 3 jobs (Politico).

Whether it’s re-imagining 70′s TV shows and movies, America in 2010 loves a good remake (or a bad one). And the Obama administration delivers. The self-proclaimed “most ethical” and “transparent” administration ever seems to have a growing stack of bribery, corruption, and flat-out lies stacking up against them. Not just all the little stuff we assume is going on, but actual ones that are being outed.

Much like Watergate, the cover-up here is worse than the crime. This is just politics as usual (from those who ran on ending that)…waving power and positions in front of government officials to strategically swing an election. Much like Watergate, it’s also a “high crime and misdemeanor.” So flower-children of the 60′s, get ready to bring out the old tie-dye again..it’s protest time! Oh wait, you run the government now.

If you haven’t been keeping up, or you get all your news from MSNBC, there’s been yet another admission of bribery to get a candidate to not run in a primary.

You may have heard of the Joe Sestak case, which weirdly ended in them saying Bill Clinton offered a non-paying low-level post to get out of the PA primary race (which is a possibly true story if it … no it makes no sense at all) but now we have our transparent administration offering Colorado’s Romanoff to not run against Bennet.

Why would they do this? Aside from wanting to swing elections by ensuring their chosen candidate gets in, those who make it to office through backhand deals have a lot of favors to return (not that I’m saying Arlen Specter switched parties with nothing in return..no). > AP News Story on Romanoff Offer

Fortunately, if Obama is good at strong arming and Chicago-style deal making, he’s also good at the PR machine. …. uhh.. at least he was.

Reminder: NJ Gov. Chris Christie is the Man

Watching him never really gets old to me. Like a shiny object in a sea of gray colored two-faced politicians.

It’s weird seeing a government employee (who makes 85k per year allegedly – see link above) getting told the same thing the private sector gets told.

Update: Oh yeah, and this. NJ Budget Freeze Worked, Doesn’t Need to Raise Taxes.

About That Arizona Immigration Bill

A lot of utter nonsense all over the place on both sides, hand wringing, feigned outrage, political posturing (since it’s popular with 70% of citizens a lot of bandwagon jumpers).

But not a whole lot of discussion that makes any logical sense. But then I saw this. It deals with Mexico’s president, who came here and trashed the Arizona law as violating human rights (try to wrap your head around HIM saying THAT without it imploding) but also sums up the entire issue pretty neatly. Video: The Only Man I Fantasize About

..besides Brad Pitt.

Of all the reasons Obama has disappointed me, the main one is that he’d change the tone in Washington and be straight with the people and have an “open” administration. Even if I disagree with someone’s policies, I respect those who are consistent and say what they mean and don’t pander.

And even if I agree with a politician, if they are pandering to a base or change their views to match the wind, I am against them. And that’s pretty much all we’ve had for years.

Then there’s NJ Governor Chris Christie (video at the bottom). This man blows my mind. So many hopefuls end up being corrupted or used our hope against us..if I could design an actual decent politician, this would be him. He’s in a super-liberal state, somehow got elected, and has hammered the heck out of the unions and big government in a place that would be like hammering Nascar in South Carolina.

>>From today, NJ Gov. Sets the Tone for US

This is just the most recent of countless clips I have sat jaw-dropped at how straight-forward and sticking to his guns this guy is. His approval ratings have been hurt since no one receiving government money – in a state where people are swimming in it want to give it back – trash him at every turn for asking them to live like the rest of us.

Yet he still confronts them…because in a bankrupt state where the public sector grows with salary raises as the private sector begs for help with basic necessities…it’s the right thing to do. And it doesn’t help him at all doing the right thing.

The attacks from the left and the comfortable children of the nanny state are devastating. Only a person true to their convictions could keep going with purpose.

Simon Cowell, the Next American Idol?

Was a bit surprised by this piece over in the Sun in the UK…Simon Cowell steps out behind the judging table and dishes on the choice for Prime Minister of Britain. The irony that our political elections have become something of an American Idol themselves isn’t lost on me.

But what he says surprised me. Though not much of an Idol fan myself, his commentary on the British political system (much akin to where ours is now) is as straight forward as his Idol tirades. And hopefully it will see some of the hacks kicked off the political stage as well.

Here are a few excerpts from the article

“I have always hated celebrities lecturing people on politics. So forgive me. But I am passionate about this country. I am equally passionate about the potential of the people who live here.”

“One is that the majority of our wealth of talented people aren’t being given the chance they need to grow and bloom at the moment. And two, the country has too many social problems – in particular knife crime and a collapse in family values.”

“Right now it takes twice as long to start a business in the UK as it does in the USA. I was recently told that around 40,000 new regulations have been introduced since 1998 – that’s 14 every working day.

Then we were ranked 4th in world for least burdensome regulation. Now we are 86th. The problem with this tinkering is the State can stifle and frustrate ambition, rather than encourage entrepreneurs, which is crazy.”

And I think this is down to a breakdown of rules. When I was young and we got caught pinching apples, we got a smack from the local policeman. Today if that happened he would be sued.

There is a tendency to punish the victim, not the criminal. If someone broke into my house or my mum’s house, I worry that the burglar has more rights than me.
