Dem Senator Bob Etheridge Manhandles College Student
While we’ve been waiting and waiting for the warning that Tea Party rhetoric could turn into physical confrontation without avail, our condolence prize is a sitting Democrat Senator from NC physically assaulting a college student who asks him an evil, vile question. Does he support Obama’s policies. This video has been a viral hit today on YouTube.
Perhaps Sen. Etheridge got all hot and bothered by President Kickass’ quest to find someone to manhandle himself at BP.
Amazing Story: Couple Realizes They’ve Met Before – 30 Years Ago

This is just a really heartwarming story and quite incredible. Don’t seem to hear a lot of this type of thing anymore, so it was pretty refreshing.
A couple was looking through old photo albums before their wedding and realized they were both at Disney World on family vacations as children the same day – 30 years before. They didn’t know each other and didn’t even live in the same country at the time.

New Mortal Kombat Trailer – Whoa.

Brilliant viral marketing on many fronts. I’ve rarely played the game Mortal Kombat (though the storyline looks cool I guess) and never seen any of the movies. (Updated – here’s the whole story of what’s going on with the trailer).
I kept seeing this pop up all over the internet in statuses and other sites referenced some Mortal Kombat trailer. No one knew if it was some promo for a game or a movie, so I ignored it.
Glad I changed my mind and watched it, looks awesome. Definitely check it out. Apparently it is, indeed, from an upcoming movie. UPDATED: Status from one of the girls in the trailer, apparently it is a promo from a director hoping to get picked up by the studio. Nice attempt…if so best viral marketing I’ve seen evah.
No embedding here, go to the full HD version as the noir styling is pretty interesting and needs full screen for effect.
Google’s Homepage D-Day Doodle Leaves Something to be Desired

Memorial Day, 9/11, D-Day…you’ll find no type of indication it is going on if you check out Google’s homepage, which features their normal logo. Darwin’s birthday, Cinco De Mayo, Pac-Man’s anniversary, or the anniversary of the guy who invented the hologram, those definitely are covered with Google doodles.
Just FYI since they don’t teach it much anymore, but D-Day is probably the single most important event in recent history that made it possible to have time bothering to worry about how old Pac-Man is.
Compare this to Microsoft’s Bing search engine. (American Cemetery in Normandy).
If anyone would come up with something remotely as good as Google I’d switch right away (not to mention the bonus of not having all of my personal, travel, email, and web surfing data in their “oops we didn’t know we were recording everyone’s wifi address” hands).

Review: Chick-fil-a Spicy Chicken Sandwich
Spicy chicken — so what?

New sandwich? Especially a new Spicy Chicken (everyone’s got a version). Well, for the notoriously miserly with new product offering Chick-fil-a, also widely know as the most consistently stellar chicken sandwich, hearing about the June release of their first is a big effing deal. (in the words of Joe Biden).
With a solid social media campaign to get a free sandwich prior to launch next week, I headed on over for mine. The expected quick, friendly service greeted me and I was quite excited.

OK, sidebar, back in the day I worked at Chick-fil-a in high school and we were one of a few markets to have tested out a spicy chicken chargrill sandwich with a dusting of potent spices. It was awesome. And it promptly was discontinued. So on top of the need for a spicy chicken from a better restaurant than Wendy’s I had a decade of waiting from their previous tease.
So how was it?!!!!!
Well, it was fine. Which normally would be just that..fine. But as I mentioned before, after decades of limited choices, from the alpha of fried chicken, it needed to be legendary. Or even really good. It was just…fine…I guess.
Was it spicy? Not especially. Definitely didn’t linger after the bite, and seemed to have no spiciness towards the end.
Compared to Wendy’s? Probably not quite as good.
Compared to the original? Don’t even.
Would I order it again? Yes, but sometimes I even order the chicken salad if I get bored with the original.
Was I let down? I think I was.
How do my friends like it? All seem to be in agreement. Ho hum.
Did it really suck that bad? No, it didn’t suck. It just wasn’t especially interesting or great.
How was the texture? Just like an original, with some pepper.
So…there you have it. Chick-fil-a. They didn’t invent the chicken, and definitely didn’t invent the spicy chicken.
(But I still love them no harm no foul).
